Royal Air Maroc (RAM), the national airline of Morocco, has announced the launch of a direct flight route connecting Casablanca to Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. This new service is scheduled to commence on June 23.
During a recent ceremony in Abuja, RAM detailed that the new route will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The announcement was made in the presence of representatives from major Nigerian travel agencies, as well as institutional and commercial partners.
“We are gathered here to celebrate a significant event that will mark and invigorate relations between Morocco and Nigeria,” said Moha Ou Ali Tagma, Morocco’s ambassador to Nigeria, in his address during the event.
Tagma highlighted the importance of June 23, calling it a milestone in efforts to further connect Morocco and Nigeria. “Abuja will soon feel much closer, being just a few hours away from Casablanca,” he remarked.
With this new route, Nigeria becomes the second African country, after Cameroon, to have two cities served by RAM. The airline already operates daily flights to Lagos and will now add three weekly flights to Abuja.
