Health authorities have recalled several batches of medicines and a healthcare product made by Novopharma after an inspection found they did not meet quality standards. The Moroccan Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AMMPS) said the recall followed a “non-conformity” found during an inspection of the company’s manufacturing site. It did not say what the problem was.

Hospitals, pharmacies, wholesalers and other healthcare providers have been told to stop using, selling and distributing the affected batches immediately. They must isolate the products and return them to Novopharma.

The recall includes:

  • Flustaph oral suspension 125 mg/5 ml
  • Flustaph oral suspension 250 mg/5 ml
  • Torva 10 mg
  • Torva 20 mg
  • Dispamox 125 mg
  • Dispamox 250 mg
  • Dispamox 500 mg
  • Roxam 20 mg
  • Agiderm 2%
  • Fer Novopharma 40 mg/10 ml
  • Arthrodont gingival paste

Arthrodont gingival paste is also included in the recall.

The agency said the measure applies only to certain batch numbers, not every pack of these products.

Patients who have one of the medicines should check the batch number on the box or bottle before taking any action.

Anyone with an affected batch is advised not to stop treatment without medical advice. Instead, they should contact their pharmacist or doctor, who can advise them and provide a replacement if needed.

The agency has not reported any health incidents linked to the recalled batches. It has also not released any further details about the inspection findings.
