Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced on Saturday a large reshuffle of his government.
Foreign Affairs Minister Arancha González Laya was replaced by Jose Manuel Albares, former Spain’s ambassador to France. Socialist Carmen Calvo, who was number two in the government has also left the cabinet and she was replaced by Nadia Calviño, current Minister of Economy.
In this reshuffle, which affected seven departments, the Minister of Justice, Juan Carlos Campo, is replaced by the President of the Senate, Pilar Llop, and the Minister of Education, Isabel Celáa, is replaced by Pilar Alegría, until now government delegate in Aragon.
Raquel Sánchez is appointed Minister of Transport replacing José Luis Abalos, while Diana Morant is appointed Minister of Science and Innovation and Isabel Rodriguez, Minister of Territorial Policy and Government Spokesperson.
