Teleperformance restructures leadership with Moulay Hafid Elalamy at the helm

Teleperformance, the global leader in digital business services, has announced a significant restructuring of its governance, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s history. The appointment of Moulay Hafid Elalamy (MHE) as Chairman of the Board of Directors ushers in a new era for the organization.

In his first remarks as Chairman, MHE expressed his enthusiasm for the new governance structure, stating, “I am pleased to have contributed to shaping the new governance of Teleperformance. It is now more agile and aligned with the highest standards. Mr. Daniel Julien has turned this group into a global leader. I look forward to working closely with Mr. Julien and Mr. Mackenbrock to shape the future of the company and its management. Together, we aim to make Teleperformance even more prosperous, for the benefit of its clients, investors, and employees.”

This leadership change comes at a crucial time, with the rapid rise of generative AI and the uncertainties surrounding the sector. Teleperformance’s stock price has recently faced challenges following the acquisition of Majorel, reflecting investor concerns about the industry’s future. MHE’s reputation as a visionary leader, along with his ability to anticipate changes and capitalize on opportunities, is expected to be a significant asset for Teleperformance as it seeks to strengthen its strategy, enhance communication, and reassure the markets.

A new governance structure for a fresh momentum

The governance overhaul, which includes the separation of the roles of Chairman and CEO, is designed to bolster Teleperformance’s entrepreneurial DNA and prepare the company for future challenges. As Chairman, MHE will play a critical role in shaping the company’s strategy, overseeing management, and representing Teleperformance to its stakeholders.

In 2023, Teleperformance achieved consolidated revenues of €8.345 billion (USD 9 billion) and a net profit of €602 million.

The company’s official statement outlined three primary objectives for the new governance structure:

  1. Integrating best governance practices by separating the roles of Chairman and CEO.
  2. Strengthening Teleperformance’s core identity, particularly its entrepreneurial culture and business development focus.
  3. Enhancing top management and implementing a succession plan overseen by a dedicated committee.

To achieve these goals, the Board of Directors has made the following decisions:

  • Appointed Moulay Hafid Elalamy as Chairman of the Board.
  • Reaffirmed its full confidence in Daniel Julien, who remains the Group CEO of Teleperformance.
  • Appointed Thomas Mackenbrock as Deputy Group CEO, effective October 1, 2024, succeeding Bhupender Singh, who has left the company to pursue new professional opportunities.
