TUI France is bringing two of its holiday club brands to Saïdia as it looks to send more French tourists to Morocco’s Mediterranean coast. The move is the company’s first major expansion in Morocco outside Marrakech and Agadir. It comes through a partnership with the Radisson Blu hotel group in Saïdia Mediterrania.

To launch the project, TUI France invited 100 of its best-performing travel agents to visit the resort during a four-day promotional trip that ended on Monday.

The company will operate Club Marmara from the Radisson Blu Resort Saïdia Garden, a 150-room hotel near local golf courses. Club Lookéa will be based at the Radisson Blu Residences Saïdia, which offers 192 studios and apartments aimed at families and longer-stay visitors.

The resort, which has a 14-kilometre beach, has not attracted as many French tourists as destinations such as Marrakech and Agadir.

Jalil Bennis, Director General of the Société de Développement de Saïdia (SDS), said: “The trust placed in us by TUI France testifies to the quality of our tourism infrastructure and the exceptional potential of the Oriental region.”

TUI France sees this new partnership as part of its plan to grow in destinations with strong potential in the French market.

Christophe Fuss, Managing Director of TUI France, said: “Our strategy is to strengthen our presence in high-potential destinations and support their growth in the French market.

“Saïdia fully embodies this ambition: a sustainable form of tourism that creates local value and is designed for the long term.”

TUI France said Saïdia fits with its focus on sustainable tourism. The resort is located next to the protected Moulouya River biological reserve.

Local officials are also hoping the area’s air links will help support growth. Saïdia is served by nearby airports in Oujda and Nador, which already receive flights from Europe.
