Fenese Otomotiv is preparing to build a new factory in Morocco as it looks to grow outside Turkey. The Turkish automotive parts maker plans to invest €8m through 2027. The planned factory will cover 25,000 sq m and will supply customers in Europe, North Africa and the Americas.
The company has completed a feasibility study for the project. General manager Rifat Gülseven said:
“We aim to establish a production base in Morocco to achieve faster access to European, North African, and American markets. Our goal is to realize this investment within the next two years.”
Fenese has not said how much of the €8m will go to the Moroccan factory and how much will be spent on its operations in Bursa, Turkey.
The company makes metal parts, plastic components, moulds and inspection equipment for the automotive industry.
Its Bursa operations have recently been brought together at one site. The facility includes transfer presses, a 500-ton eccentric press, a cataphoresis coating plant and a powder-coating line.
The new factory will need workers in production, maintenance, mould-making, plastic injection and automation. The company will also need staff in quality control, logistics, industrial engineering and workplace safety.
The number of jobs will depend on the factory’s production capacity and level of automation. The project is expected to create factory jobs as well as work in transport, maintenance and technical services.
Deal with global carmaker
Fenese is in talks with a major global carmaker. The company says negotiations are at an advanced stage.
“We are at the final stage of negotiations with a major global vehicle manufacturer. Through this collaboration, we aim to raise our export ratio from the current 30% level to 50% in the first phase as we transition to direct OEM manufacturing.”
A deal would allow Fenese to supply vehicle manufacturers directly as a Tier-1 supplier.
The Moroccan factory would have to meet strict requirements on quality, documentation and delivery. Regular checks and audits would also be part of the process.
Fenese currently has about 300 employees in Bursa. The company also operates in Romania and Mexico and is developing business links in South America.
More focus on electric vehicles
Electric vehicle parts currently account for about 5% of Fenese’s production.
The company plans to increase this share and develop new parts for electric vehicles.
“We are developing next-generation parts for electric vehicles. As of 2026, we will increase our production volume in this segment, strengthening our position in the global EV ecosystem.”
The company says its EV work will require more skills in product design, materials, measurement and production.
Morocco has attracted major carmakers and parts suppliers in recent years. Renault has plants in Tangier and Casablanca, while Stellantis operates a large factory in Kenitra.
The country has also become an important production base for companies supplying European carmakers.
Fenese has not yet announced the location of its new factory, its construction date, production capacity or final number of jobs.
