UEFA Bans Austria’s Arnautovic for One Match after Insulting Player

The UEFA on Wednesday gave Austria’s Marko Arnautovic a one-match ban for insulting a player at EURO 2020.

The UEFA Appeals Body announced the decision after a disciplinary investigation was launched against Arnautovic for his alleged racist remarks toward North Macedonia’s Ezgjan Alioski during Austria’s 3-1 win in the Group C on Sunday.

Following the match, Arnautovic apologized for his reaction but denied using racist language.

He will miss the game against the Netherlands on Thursday.
