UM6P launches Africa’s first ‘Librairie Eyrolles’ bookstores in Rabat and Benguerir

In an exciting new chapter for higher education in Morocco, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), in collaboration with Eyrolles Group and Sochepress, has launched the first-ever ‘Librairie Eyrolles’ bookstores in Africa. Located on UM6P’s campuses in Rabat and Benguerir, the Rabat bookstore opened on October 23, 2024, followed by the Benguerir location on November 7, 2024. This initiative aligns with UM6P’s mission to foster knowledge accessibility and enrich the academic and cultural life of its students and faculty.

Designed as vibrant hubs for learning and innovation, UM6P’s campuses now boast these Eyrolles bookstores, which offer an impressive selection of resources to students, researchers, and professors alike. The bookstores house a wide array of materials in Arabic, French, and English, covering a diverse spectrum of topics—from humanities to arts, personal development, and fields specific to UM6P’s academic focus areas.

Managed by Sochepress, the bookstores go beyond traditional book sales, featuring school supplies, apparel, and UM6P-branded merchandise. They cater not only to students and faculty but also to alumni and visitors, enhancing the campus experience by providing practical resources and academic essentials.

However, these spaces are designed to be much more than bookstores. Throughout the year, they will host a variety of events, including literary discussions, creative workshops, and cultural gatherings. This series of initiatives aims to make the bookstores dynamic centers for connection and cultural exchange, reinforcing UM6P’s role in promoting knowledge and culture within its community and beyond.
