GITEX Africa Morocco is widening its focus to help Africa adopt AI, build tech infrastructure, and digitise key industries. The 2026 event will feature areas dedicated to data centres, cybersecurity, mobility, and finance, showing how the continent is moving from plans to real digital projects.
From 7 to 9 April, more than 1,450 companies and startups from 130 countries will take part. The event is under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, organised by KAOUN International, and hosted by Morocco’s Digital Development Agency (ADD).
The expansion shows Africa’s growing importance in the global tech world. For the first time, countries like Thailand and South Korea are sending delegations. Big tech and finance players such as Ericsson and Mastercard will also be there. Conference sessions will include top public officials and global business leaders.
A new Data Centre Intelligent Infrastructure section will focus on Africa’s rising need for computing power and connectivity. Companies like Schneider Electric, Vertiv, Nokia, Huawei, and APL Data Centre are working with governments to build and expand data centres in Morocco and beyond.
GITEX Africa is also launching a Mobility Park, showcasing electric, self-driving, and connected vehicles. Hyundai, the official transport partner, will display its IONIQ electric models. Hyundai Morocco CEO Youssef Bennis said the event reflects the company’s focus on technology and people-centred mobility.
The Future Banking and Finance section brings together banks and tech companies to support digital payments, financial inclusion, and cross-border transfers. Saham Bank will join the Supernova startup pitch, supporting new businesses rethinking secure payments. CEO Ahmed El Yacoubi called Africa the world’s most dynamic fintech market.
Fintech unicorn Wave will present “The Future of Money, Built for Africa,” focusing on simple, easy-to-use solutions to speed up digital finance.
