The Competition Council has approved a joint acquisition deal involving Casablanca-based USG Technologies SA. The green light was given for AfricInvest Small Cap Fund LLC, an investment vehicle focused on high-potential small and medium-sized businesses, to acquire a 24.5% stake in the company. The transaction grants AfricInvest shared control alongside existing majority shareholder Equity Invest SA.

USG Technologies operates across three strategic sectors: electronic security systems, audiovisual equipment, and clean energy solutions. It also holds investments in several companies active within Morocco’s growing tech and energy markets.

AfricInvest Small Cap Fund, headquartered in Mauritius and part of the larger AfricInvest group, specializes in supporting the expansion of promising SMEs throughout Africa. This deal not only provides capital but also gives AfricInvest voting rights that solidify its role in shaping the company’s strategic direction. The move is expected to support USG Technologies’ growth in both existing and emerging sectors, leveraging AfricInvest’s regional expertise and financial backing.
