Anti-corruption: Morocco re-elected to the executive committee of the IAACA

Morocco has once again secured a key seat on the executive committee of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA). This re-election, achieved on Thursday by Mohammed Bachir Rachdi, head of the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention, and the Fight against Corruption (INPPLC), took place during the 14th General Assembly of the organization.

This renewed mandate underscores the global recognition and trust in Morocco’s continued commitment to combating corruption. Through active participation in various IAACA structures, particularly its executive and training committees, Morocco’s INPPLC has played a pivotal role in advancing global anti-corruption initiatives, particularly across Africa.

In an official statement, the INPPLC emphasized that this new term will enable Morocco to deepen its contribution to international anti-corruption efforts. The country will benefit from enhanced access to cutting-edge methods for detecting, investigating, and combating corruption, reinforcing its domestic strategies for good governance.

Founded in October 2006, the IAACA has emerged as a cornerstone organization for enforcing the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). With over 180 members, including anti-corruption agencies, law enforcement bodies, experts, and international organizations, the IAACA promotes global cooperation to tackle the complex and far-reaching challenges posed by corruption.

The association is renowned for its training programs, conferences, and forums that foster the exchange of best practices. These initiatives aim to standardize anti-corruption measures worldwide, improve regulatory frameworks, and equip member countries with the tools needed to strengthen their institutional defenses against corrupt practices.

The reappointment of Mohammed Bachir Rachdi represents a significant achievement for the INPPLC, reaffirming its role as a proactive player within the IAACA. By fostering deeper collaboration with international counterparts, Morocco is contributing to the development of innovative strategies to combat corruption—an issue that remains critical for both developing nations and emerging economies.

This new mandate presents a prime opportunity for Morocco to solidify its leadership position in the field of ethical governance. With growing expertise and international recognition, the kingdom is poised to continue its drive for greater institutional transparency and accountability, ultimately enhancing the well-being of its citizens.
