The Association of Independent Radios and Televisions (ARTI) has named Nawfel Raghay as its Director General.
The decision follows the plan approved at the January 2026 General Assembly and is part of ARTI’s 2026–2028 programme. The association says the sector is under pressure from global digital platforms and the rise of artificial intelligence. ARTI wants to act as the main voice for private audiovisual operators in Morocco.
ARTI President Younes Boumehdi said: “The appointment of Nawfel Raghay reflects our desire to provide ARTI with a permanent operational capacity capable of supporting our priorities over time, supporting the Association’s work, and strengthening our institutional dialogue.” He added the move will “accelerate collective projects for the benefit of all members”.
Raghay has worked in regulation, public broadcasting and private media. He studied engineering at the École Mohammadia d’Ingénieurs and earned a master’s degree in audiovisual studies from the American University. He has held roles at the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication, the Société Nationale de Radiodiffusion et de Télévision and the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection.
He was previously General Manager of Chada Media Group and represented the company within ARTI. The association says this background gives him a strong understanding of the changes affecting the industry.
He will now lead the implementation of ARTI’s strategy, prepare advocacy files, build new partnerships and improve the organisation’s internal structure.
ARTI represents all private Moroccan audiovisual operators and says it will continue defending the sector through dialogue with regulators and economic partners.
