Attawfiq Microfinance has received the MSI 20000 international certification. The award was presented on 25 June at Euronext Paris by independent certification body COFICERT.
MSI 20000 measures how well financial institutions manage key areas such as governance, risk, assets, liquidity and profitability. It is awarded to organisations that meet high international financial management standards.
Attawfiq Microfinance is a subsidiary of Banque Centrale Populaire Group. The certification confirms the strength of its financial management and governance. The institution said the recognition will help build trust among clients, partners and funders while supporting its long-term goal of expanding financial inclusion.
“This certification reflects our commitment to the highest standards of financial governance and best practices. It also strengthens our determination to continue developing microfinance with the same commitment to transparency and performance,” said Hicham Kharrou, Managing Director of Attawfiq Microfinance.
Attawfiq Microfinance has operated in Morocco for more than 25 years. It serves more than 300,000 active customers, manages a loan portfolio worth more than MAD 5 billion and runs nearly 500 branches across the country.
