The embassy of Morocco in Sofia takes part, as a special guest, in the 15th edition of the International Festival of Youth and Arts (Festival of Muses, July 5 to 15), in Sozopol, at the invitation of the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Iliana Yotova.
According to a statement by the embassy, this event is organized under the patronage of the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, in collaboration with the Municipality of Sozopol, the Association “Muzite” (“Muses”) and the Foundation for Global Health.
The inaugural ceremony of the Muses festival at the “Apolonia” amphitheater was marked by a welcome speech by Yotova, followed by a parade on stage of all representatives of participating countries, including the delegation of Morocco.
In her speech at the opening of the International Festival of Youth and Arts, the Vice President, after welcoming the participants, stressed that “there is no more appropriate place to organize the Festival of “Muses” than the magical city of Sozopol of the Black Sea, where antiquity and rich history of arts and culture meet the talent of children and youth”.
She thanked on this occasion the diplomatic missions in Bulgaria that support the Festival of “Muses” and said she was “particularly honored that this year the main partner of this Festival is the embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco whose valuable contribution has allowed to give a special note to this 15th edition, despite the health crisis related to Covid-19 that is still raging in the world.
The Bulgarian official paid a special tribute to Morocco for “its important contribution to the most beautiful Festival in the world! “Despite the obstacles and difficulties concerning mobility due to the impact of Covid-19, with ambition and good will, you allow thousands of children and young people to meet and make friends,” she said to Zakia El Midaoui, ambassador of Morocco.
For her part, Hristina Krasteva, President of the International Festival of Youth and Arts expressed her warm thanks to Morocco and the Moroccan diplomat for her support to the development of children and youth.
Speaking at the ceremony, marked by the performance of the national anthem of Morocco, the ambassador of the Kingdom in Sofia said honored to participate, on behalf of Morocco, in this important international cultural event, which illustrates the strength and creativity of the arts of all kinds, reflecting the role that can play the creation in Bulgaria, which has become an international tourist destination par excellence.
