CFG Bank has warned the public about fraudulent online advertisements using the name and photo of its Chief Executive Officer, Younes Benjelloun.
The bank said the fake promotions are circulating on social media and are being used to promote unauthorised investment schemes.
CFG Bank said neither the bank nor Mr Benjelloun had launched or endorsed the advertisements.
The bank urged people to be cautious when responding to investment offers online and to avoid clicking on suspicious links or entering personal information on external websites.
It also warned users not to share sensitive information, including passwords, login codes and one-time passwords (OTPs).
Anyone who suspects fraudulent activity should verify the communication through CFG Bank’s official channels, the bank said.
