The Canadian technology and consulting group CGI is marking its 50th anniversary in 2026 with record financial results and a new round of acquisitions.
The company, which is listed on the stock exchanges in Toronto and New York, reported revenue of 15.91bn Canadian dollars in 2025. Its order book rose to more than 31bn Canadian dollars, the highest in its history. CGI employs about 94,000 people worldwide and operates in dozens of countries, including Morocco.
CGI has been present in Morocco for more than 20 years. In 2026, it secured ISO 27701 certification for data privacy management as well as the Level 2 “Numérique Responsable” label. The company says it is the first organisation of its size in the region to achieve this level of certification.
Around 1,300 staff are based in Casablanca, Rabat and Fes. They work on projects linked to data protection, cloud services and digital transformation for international clients. CGI describes Morocco as one of its global centres of expertise.
In early 2026, the group stepped up its expansion strategy.
In January, it completed the integration of Comarch Polska SA, adding 460 specialists and expanding its footprint in Eastern Europe. In February, it acquired Stratfield Consulting to strengthen its presence in Atlanta in the United States.
It also finalised acquisitions of Apside and Online Business Systems at the end of 2025 to boost its digital engineering capacity in France and Canada.
Founder and co-chair Serge Godin said the company had been built on long-term planning and shared responsibility.
Executive Chair Julie Godin said CGI would continue to invest heavily in artificial intelligence. In January 2026, the company expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to deploy agent-based AI systems through Gemini Enterprise.
Chief Executive François Boulanger said businesses must adapt quickly to rapid technological change and focus on delivering measurable results.
