COVID-19: Morocco Records 1,555 New Cases, Over 17.4 Mln Fully Vaccinated People

COVID-19: Morocco Records 1,555 New Cases, Over 17.4 Mln Fully Vaccinated People

Morocco has recorded 1,555 new COVID-19 cases while 2,064 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the past 24 hours, the ministry of Health announced on Sunday.

A total of 21,006,394 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 17,429,646, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 919,681, while recoveries rise to 882,155, i.e. a recovery rate of 96%.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (761), Casablanca-Settat (296), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (143), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (83), the Eastern region (66), Souss-Massa (55), Fez-Meknes (44), Marrakech-Safi (40), Laayoune-Sakia-El Hamra (28), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (17), Guelmim-Oued Noun (13) and Draa-Tafilalet (9).

As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 13,910 with 34 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (8), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (8), the Eastern region (4), Fez-Meknes (3), Marrakech-Safi (3), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (2), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (2), Souss-Massa (2), Draa-Tafilalet (1) and Guelmim-Oued Noun (1).

The number of active cases stands at 23,616 including 1,444 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
