Morocco has recorded 2,432 new COVID-19 cases while 3,672 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the past 24 hours, the ministry of Health announced on Thursday.
A total of 22,757,405 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 17,225,962 the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 913,423, while recoveries rise to 872,976, i.e. a recovery rate of 95.6%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (819), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (666), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (280), Eastern Region (175), Marrakech-Safi (100), Fez-Meknes (93), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (75), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (59), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (48), Souss-Massa (46), Guelmim-Oued Noun (41), and Draa-Tafilalet (30).
As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 13,775 with 46 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (10), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (11),Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (05), Eastern Region (04), Marrakech-Safi (03), Fez-Meknes (02), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (03), Souss-Massa (05), Guelmim-Oued Noun (01), and Draa-Tafilalet (02), the ministry said, noting that the fatality rate has reached 1.5%.
The number of active cases stands at 26,672 including 1,595 in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
