Crédit du Maroc made MAD 532 million in net profit in the first six months of 2026, up 19.4% from a year earlier. The bank also grew its lending, attracted more customer deposits and launched new digital services.
Net banking income rose 7.8% to MAD 1.914 billion, compared with MAD 1.775 billion in the first half of 2025.
Interest income was the main driver. Net interest margin increased 13.1% to MAD 1.478 billion, helped by higher lending activity, lower funding costs and contributions from Crédit du Maroc Leasing and Factoring.
Fee and commission income reached MAD 259 million. Insurance and wealth management businesses supported the increase, along with the launch of the bank’s CDM Pay payment service.
Income from market activities fell 13.8% to MAD 226 million as bond market activity slowed. Strong foreign exchange trading partly made up for the decline.
The bank’s loan book grew 7.1% over the past year to MAD 64.276 billion.
Business lending increased 12.7% to MAD 41.069 billion. Leasing rose 34.8%, equipment loans grew 24.9%, and loans for real estate development increased 15.8%.
Household lending reached MAD 22.742 billion, up 3.9%. Consumer loans increased 10.5%, while home loans grew 2.3%.
Customer deposits on the balance sheet rose 10.1% to MAD 63.903 billion.
Demand deposits climbed 14.6% to MAD 47.106 billion. Term deposits stood at MAD 5.348 billion, while savings deposits totalled MAD 10.092 billion.
The bank also continued its regional business roadshows, holding events on the investment charter, foreign exchange markets and banking regulations.
Digital services expanded during the first half of the year. At GITEX Africa 2026, Crédit du Maroc signed a partnership with Adria Business & Technology to explore artificial intelligence and digital transformation. It also partnered with S2M Worldwide to offer instant bank card issuance when customers open an account.
Customers can now use Apple Pay and Google Pay with VISA cards issued by the bank. Crédit du Maroc also launched a digital service on its myCDM app that lets customers pay international tuition fees without visiting a branch.
