Damane Cash is touring several cities across Morocco to encourage Moroccans living abroad to invest in local businesses by opening Damane Cash franchises.
The payment company joined Bank of Africa, its parent company, during the Marhaba 2026 campaign to meet Moroccans returning home for the summer. The tour has already stopped in Agadir, Fez, Tangier and Beni Mellal, with Nador set to host the final event.
The company used the meetings to present its franchise model, which it describes as “an accessible, structured, and value-creating model” that helps expand financial services across the country.
Damane Cash said the meetings “confirmed genuine interest from our compatriots in projects that anchor them sustainably in their home country.”
The company also thanked Bank of Africa “for this great initiative and for including its subsidiary in this large-scale operation, as well as all participants for the quality of discussions.”
The campaign comes as Morocco looks for ways to turn money sent home by Moroccans abroad into business investment. Moroccans living overseas send more than 115 billion dirhams (around $11.5 billion) home every year, but most of the money goes to family support and property.
Operation Marhaba, organised by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, helps millions of Moroccans abroad return home each summer. Bank of Africa is using the campaign to meet customers and promote financial services directly.
Damane Cash was founded in 2007 and became part of Bank of Africa in December 2014. Bank Al-Maghrib granted the company a payment institution licence in 2018, allowing it to provide digital and in-person financial services across the country.
The company has a network of more than 1,200 branches and points of sale.
Its services include the Damane Pay mobile wallet for money transfers, bill payments, merchant payments and mobile top-ups. It also offers domestic and international money transfers through Ria, Western Union and MoneyGram, as well as cash-in and cash-out services and payments for utility bills, telecom services and taxes.
The franchise programme targets entrepreneurs and Moroccans returning from abroad. It offers a ready-made business model with training, technology support, lower capital requirements and regulatory oversight from Bank Al-Maghrib.
