First Morocco-Ivorian Energy Forum Held in Abidjan

The 1st Moroccan-Ivorian Energy Forum opened on Tuesday in Abidjan, at the initiative of the Moroccan Federation of Electricity, Electronics and Renewable Energies (FENELEC) in partnership with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE).

This Forum, which will continue until Thursday, is a high-level economic event on this highly strategic sector in order, on the one hand, to boost co-investment in this area between the two countries and, on the other hand, to deepen the reflection on the development and strengthening of the competitiveness of African economies in energy.

Placed under the theme “Ivorian-Moroccan win-win partnership: Access to electricity for all, for sustainable development”, the forum “will mobilize major institutional and private actors of Cote d’Ivoire and Morocco”, according to FENELEC.

It is part of an approach to promote trade and investment based on the principle of co-development and sustainable win-win partnerships between Moroccan actors in the energy sector and their institutional and private Ivorian partners.

In particular, this event aims to promote the establishment of intra-African regional value chains in the energy sector in the context of the entry into force of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
