On Wednesday, November 27, FORVIA, the world’s seventh-largest supplier of automotive technologies, celebrated the inauguration of a cutting-edge industrial facility at the Technopolis Industrial Acceleration Zone in Salé, Morocco. The grand event was graced by Ryad Mezzour, Morocco’s Minister of Industry and Trade, and Patrick Koller, FORVIA’s CEO. A follow-up inauguration will take place on November 28, marking the expansion of FORVIA’s operations in Kenitra.
A boost for Morocco’s industrial ambitions
During the Salé event, Minister Mezzour expressed pride in Morocco’s flourishing industrial partnerships, highlighting FORVIA’s long-standing presence in the country. “Today, we celebrate the success of a globally renowned automotive supplier that has been investing in Morocco for over 15 years. These new facilities reflect the confidence of global industry leaders in Morocco as a prime destination and showcase the remarkable potential and competitiveness of our automotive sector,” he stated.
He also emphasized that the dual projects will not only deepen local integration within the auto industry but also strengthen Morocco’s position in global value chains.
Expanding horizons: FORVIA’s Moroccan legacy
The new facilities in Salé and Kenitra enhance FORVIA’s capacity to serve both Moroccan and European markets. The investments also signal a significant boost for local employment, with 2,000 new jobs expected between 2024 and 2027. Doubling its production space, FORVIA reinforces its role as a critical player in Morocco’s burgeoning automotive ecosystem.
Since its establishment in Morocco in 2008, FORVIA has steadily grown its presence, now operating three factories—two in Kenitra and one in Salé. Employing nearly 4,000 people, the company plays a pivotal role in developing Morocco’s auto industry. Its production portfolio includes car seat covers, dashboards, door panels, and exhaust after-treatment systems.
Driving growth for the future
FORVIA’s latest expansion cements its commitment to Morocco, aligning with the nation’s broader goals of industrial innovation and global competitiveness. As these new facilities come online, they will not only meet rising demand but also elevate Morocco’s reputation as a hub for world-class automotive manufacturing.
With its eyes firmly on the future, FORVIA continues to build a legacy of growth, innovation, and collaboration in Morocco’s thriving automotive landscape.
