The AEGIS Group and Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade held the country’s first seminar on protecting pharmaceutical factories from cyberattacks. The goal was to show companies why securing their production systems is more important than ever as factories go digital with Industry 4.0 technologies.

Speakers said cybersecurity isn’t just a tech issue—it’s key to keeping operations running smoothly. They explained the rules, including Law 05-20, which requires important industries to keep their systems secure and report cyber incidents.

The seminar included a live demo of a SIEM-OT system, a tool that watches all the machines on a factory floor. It can spot unusual activity in real time and alert operators before any damage happens.

Morocco is aiming to be a regional industrial hub in sectors like automotive, aerospace, and now pharmaceuticals. Modern factories connect machines through the Internet of Things, cloud computing, and AI. While this makes production faster and smarter, it also opens up factories to hackers.

Law 05-20 makes companies in vital sectors, such as energy, water, and health, carry out regular audits and report cyber issues to the DGSSI. Pharma companies are especially at risk because their research and formulas are valuable, production lines are critical, and mistakes can lead to recalls or legal problems.
