Abdellatif Kabbaj, founder and chief executive of Kenzi Hotels Group, has been honoured with the HIS ICON 2026 award at the Hospitality Innovation Summit in Rabat.

The award was presented during the sixth edition of the event, organised by GBB at the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat Kasr Al Bahr. It recognises Kabbaj’s contribution to Morocco’s hotel industry and his more than 40 years of work in tourism.

Kabbaj is one of the best-known figures in Moroccan hospitality. Over the years, he has helped develop a hotel sector focused on quality, investment and Moroccan hospitality.

His career began as a hotel receptionist before he went on to create and lead Kenzi Hotels Group, one of Morocco’s leading hotel companies.

Through the growth of Kenzi Hotels Group, Kabbaj has played a part in the expansion of a sector that is important to Morocco’s economy. His career has spanned a period in which the country’s hotel industry worked to improve standards, increase capacity and support the growth of tourism.

The presentation of the HIS ICON 2026 trophy was one of the main moments of the Hospitality Innovation Summit, an annual event that brings together professionals from the hospitality, tourism and investment sectors in Morocco and abroad.
