The Moroccan U20 national team is set to return home to a hero’s welcome following their historic victory at the U20 World Cup in Chile. For the first time in the country’s footballing history, the youth squad claimed the world title, and their achievement will be honored in the capital, Rabat, with all the pomp usually reserved for the most significant national triumphs.

In accordance with the High Instructions of King Mohammed VI, an official and public celebration will take place on Wednesday, October 22. The young champions will be received by the King himself later that afternoon at the Royal Palace in Rabat. This royal audience will serve as a fitting tribute to the team’s extraordinary campaign, which saw them rise above the competition and bring home Morocco’s first-ever U20 World Cup trophy.

Following the royal reception, a large-scale public celebration is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. near the palace. From there, the players will ride through the streets of Rabat along a pre-planned route filled with festivity. The procession will start at Bab Essoufara and continue down Avenue Mohammed V, where thousands of fans are expected to line the streets in celebration, cheering their champions as they pass by.
