LabelVie launches Ramadan food drive across Morocco

LabelVie Group has launched the fourth edition of its “LabelSolidaire” campaign to support vulnerable families during Ramadan.

The retailer said it will distribute 1,600 food baskets containing a total of 16,000 products sourced from its stores. Each basket includes basic items such as dates, flour and sugar.

The operation covers several areas across Morocco, including Al Haouz in the commune of Tazart, Aïn Sebaâ in Casablanca, Kénitra, Salé, Agadir, Tiznit in the commune of Reggada, and Taza in Ghiata Al Gharbiya.

The group is working with local associations, including one that supports people with disabilities. Employees are taking part in preparing and distributing the baskets.

In addition to the direct distribution, LabelVie said it has donated nearly 35,000 products to the Tadamoun Al Amal association to assist vulnerable people.

The campaign also includes weekly Ftour meals organised with partners.

In Casablanca, “Ftour Al Amal” is being held in partnership with Tadamoun Al Amal. More than 1,000 people are expected to benefit, with total mobilisation reaching up to 1,800 people.

In Tamesna, the group is working with Les Enfants de l’Ovale to organise “Ftour Solidaire” for around 400 children and their supervisors. Employees are helping with hosting and service.

Founded in 1986, LabelVie operates more than 411 stores in 37 cities under brands including Carrefour, Carrefour Market, Carrefour Express, Atacadao and Supeco.

The company, which is listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, employs more than 10,300 people and says social and environmental responsibility forms part of its corporate strategy.
