Marrakech to host the inaugural Global Moroccan Economic Forum

On May 9, the city of Marrakech will host the first-ever Global Moroccan Economic Forum (FEMM), an initiative spearheaded by the Trophées Marocains du Monde Foundation. The event, themed “Investing in Morocco: Opportunities for Moroccans Worldwide,” aims to spotlight the vital role that the Moroccan diaspora plays in the nation’s economic development.

Bringing together a diverse array of entrepreneurs, investors, financial experts, and policymakers, the forum seeks to foster in-depth discussions on investment opportunities in Morocco. Attendees will explore financing mechanisms and strategies to integrate diaspora-led projects into the country’s local and regional economic fabric.

FEMM aspires to become a dynamic platform for exchanging ideas and experiences, paving the way for robust partnerships between Morocco’s economic stakeholders and the highly skilled talents of the Moroccan diaspora. A key focus will be on the tangible contributions of Moroccans abroad, emphasizing their significant impact on the development of various regions across the Kingdom.

The forum’s agenda features a rich lineup of topics, including investment opportunities tailored for Moroccans living abroad (MDM), customized financing solutions, and actionable strategies to seamlessly integrate their ventures into the local economy. These discussions aim to structure and stimulate diaspora investments in key sectors, driving sustainable growth and innovation in Morocco.

This initiative builds upon a series of economic meetings launched by the Trophées Marocains du Monde Foundation since November 2022. Held across major diaspora hubs such as France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom, these events have fostered constructive dialogue and helped identify the expectations of Moroccan expatriates regarding investment and potential return to their homeland.

With the launch of FEMM, Marrakech is set to position itself as a central hub for the economic ambitions of the Moroccan diaspora. The event will provide an ideal platform to harness their expertise and financial resources, channeling them into Morocco’s development efforts and reinforcing the Kingdom’s economic resilience.
