The Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS) has signed a partnership with Crédit Agricole du Maroc to improve access to healthcare, promote disease prevention and help fund students’ education.
The agreement was signed on Thursday at the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat by FM6SS chief executive Professor Lahcen Belyamani and Crédit Agricole du Maroc chairman Mohamed Fikrat.
The deal will give the bank’s customers and employees access to the foundation’s existing and future hospitals at agreed rates.
The two partners will also work to improve access to preventive healthcare, including medical screening, early diagnosis and public awareness campaigns. Their efforts will focus on rural areas, where access to hospitals can be difficult.
The foundation and the bank will use the bank’s mobile units to bring these services closer to rural communities. They will also run health education programmes and provide training for bank employees.
Crédit Agricole du Maroc will offer financial support to students at Mohammed VI University of Sciences and Health and employees of the foundation.
“Prevention is the first step in healthcare, and it only works if it reaches people who live far from hospitals,” Professor Belyamani said.
“By bringing together our hospitals and universities with Crédit Agricole du Maroc’s local network, we are putting King Mohammed VI’s vision of access to healthcare for all into practice,” he added.
Fikrat said the bank had long supported rural communities beyond its role as a lender.
“This partnership will give our customers and employees access to high-quality healthcare and prevention services. It will also help future healthcare professionals find financing that meets their educational needs,” he said.
