Moroccan mining company Managem says 2025 was a big year after new copper and gold mines started producing, helping sales and profits jump.

The company made almost 13.7bn dirhams in revenue, much higher than in recent years. It says the rise came from new production and strong global prices. Profits from day-to-day operations also increased.

Two new projects drove most of the growth. In Morocco, the Tizert copper mine began production. In Senegal, the Boto gold mine also started operating and recorded its first sales before the end of the year.

These new mines helped the company produce more and expand the types of metals it sells after years of investment.

Net profit rose even faster than sales, thanks to higher production and better efficiency. The company says this marks a major step up in its size and capacity.

Work is continuing on cobalt processing projects and the Tendrara gas project, which is expected to start production from 2026. Managem also confirmed a deal linked to a gold project in Sudan as it expands abroad.

The company is focusing on metals used in electric cars and the energy transition, especially copper and cobalt. It has a deal with Renault to supply low-carbon cobalt for electric vehicle batteries.

Managem is owned by investment group Al Mada, which helps fund its long-term mining projects.
