Morocco is increasingly becoming a key destination for European fuel exports, as shown by recent activity at the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) hub—one of Europe’s most important centers for refining and storage. This week, shipments of gasoline from the ARA region have made their way to Moroccan ports, reflecting the country’s growing role in Europe’s energy trade network.

According to new data released by the Dutch consultancy Insights Global, Morocco was among several countries receiving gasoline exports amid a slight overall increase in ARA fuel inventories. Total fuel stocks at the hub rose to 5.89 million metric tons this week, marking a small uptick compared to the previous seven days.

Gasoline alone accounted for 1.27 million metric tons—an increase from the prior week—pointing to a strong supply outlook. Although a surge in U.S.-bound exports is anticipated in the near future, the current volumes are being divided among multiple global markets. Alongside Morocco, shipments have also been sent to France, Brazil, Ireland, and South Africa.

Diesel volumes have also risen, now totaling 1.99 million metric tons, despite a dip in local European demand. Meanwhile, kerosene, fuel oil, and naphtha showed mixed results, with fluctuations unrelated to Morocco’s imports during this reporting period.

The ARA hub continues to serve as a critical node in the energy supply chain for Western Europe and neighboring regions, including North Africa. With trade flows constantly shifting, Morocco’s inclusion in this week’s fuel exports underlines its growing significance as part of the broader international energy landscape.
