Morocco greenlights $33 billion investment drive to boost jobs and growth

Morocco is ramping up its investment efforts with an ambitious portfolio of 191 projects approved by the National Investment Commission. Spread across seven sessions, these projects represent more than 326 billion dirhams in committed funds. Officials estimate the initiatives will generate around 150,000 jobs, both directly and indirectly, signaling a bold push to energize the national economy.

At the heart of the government’s messaging is a commitment to fast-tracking investments that reshape the country’s economic landscape. Authorities argue that public and private sectors are not just complementary—they’re essential partners in building a more inclusive and dynamic economy. The strategy aims to accelerate growth, create sustainable employment, and close development gaps between different regions.

Officials are touting what they call a collaborative, nationwide approach that brings together economic stakeholders across all sectors and regions. This inclusive model, they say, has allowed for a deep rethinking of public policy and a more prominent role for private enterprise. A cornerstone of that shift is a newly introduced investment charter designed to attract capital and streamline business processes.

Alongside these legislative reforms, the government has launched a broader action plan to improve the overall business climate. Key elements include international marketing campaigns to position Morocco as a competitive investment destination, and targeted public-private partnerships in sectors with high growth potential, such as industry, renewable energy, and advanced technology.

To anchor Morocco more firmly on the regional and global investment map, the strategy also focuses on cutting red tape, improving governance, and expanding infrastructure. The goal is clear: create a modern, investor-friendly environment that supports long-term, sustainable development.
