Morocco honored as ‘Most welcoming destination’ at London’s World Travel Market

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) was awarded the title of “Most Welcoming Destination” at the prestigious Arab Travel Awards on Tuesday night, an accolade celebrated on the sidelines of the World Travel Market (WTM), held from November 5-7 in London. This recognition highlights Morocco’s commitment to hospitality and reinforces its reputation on the UK market as a premier travel destination.

For the 2024 edition of the WTM, the ONMT has unveiled a remarkable 800-square-meter pavilion showcasing Morocco’s unique appeal. This large space includes a VIP networking area and special sections dedicated to this year’s featured regions—Marrakech-Safi and Agadir-Souss Massa—two of the top destinations favored by British tourists.

This extraordinary pavilion serves as a cultural showcase, with vibrant displays of Moroccan heritage, culinary diversity, and artisanal craftsmanship. With the backing of 54 co-exhibitors, Morocco’s presence is strategically designed to foster collaborations with international travel companies and expand its reach in both the British and global markets.

Guided by its “Light in Action” strategy, the ONMT’s participation underscores Morocco’s ongoing efforts to boost its international profile and stimulate growth in key global tourism markets.

The WTM, held in London for the past 44 years, stands as the travel industry’s premier event, drawing professionals from all over the world. In 2023, it welcomed over 40,000 professionals from 184 countries. This year, the show anticipates an even higher turnout, with exhibitor numbers up by 7%, exceeding 4,000 participants.
