The Morocco Royal Tour is gearing up for its 14th edition, set to kick off in Tétouan from September 18 to 21. The opening leg of this prestigious equestrian event will take place at the Hipica arena and is held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI. This year’s launch will welcome elite riders from more than 15 countries, marking another milestone in the Tour’s growing global stature.
For the 2025 edition, over 100 riders and approximately 200 horses are expected to compete, representing countries across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South America. Notably, Argentina and Bahrain will be making their debut appearances, joining established participants such as Brazil, Egypt, France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. The expanding international lineup highlights the event’s increasing appeal and solidifies Morocco’s place on the world show jumping map.
More than just a sporting event, the Morocco Royal Tour has become a symbol of organizational excellence, earning praise from international equestrian authorities for its high level of competition and flawless execution. For Moroccan riders, the Tour offers a rare opportunity to test their skills against some of the sport’s finest athletes on home soil.
Tétouan will host four days of show jumping, including two nighttime sessions on September 19 and 20 starting at 8:30 p.m. From there, the circuit heads to Rabat from September 24 to 28, taking place at the headquarters of the Royal Moroccan Federation for Equestrian Sports (FRMSE). The final leg will be held in El Jadida from October 2 to 5, with the Grand Prix of King Mohammed VI bringing the event to a close during the Salon du Cheval.
Both Rabat and El Jadida will benefit from newly developed sand arenas, a testament to Morocco’s ongoing investment in the equestrian sector. These upgrades reflect the country’s broader commitment to modernizing its sporting infrastructure and fostering a thriving equine industry.
In total, the Morocco Royal Tour will feature 40 competitions, including 13 events listed in the Longines Ranking of the International Equestrian Federation. The program includes three CSI 4* Grand Prix events that serve as World Cup qualifiers, along with 18 CSI 1* classes, three of which are Grand Prix events. Rabat will also host the prestigious CSIO4*-W Nations Cup, further cementing the Tour’s status as a top-tier international competition.
Organized by the Morocco Royal Tour Foundation—a joint initiative of the Royal Guard, the FRMSE, and the Salon du Cheval Association—the event has become a fixture on the global equestrian calendar. It not only underscores Morocco’s ambition to be a leader in the sport but also plays a key role in nurturing the next generation of national talent.
