A mobile health unit of negative pressure isolation with a capacity of 30 beds, received as a donation from the United States of America, was inaugurated, Wednesday in Salé (near Rabat).
The $1.5 million grant, which reflects the excellent relations between Morocco and the United States, will enable the Kingdom to strengthen its response to the Covid-19 pandemic and to be deployed in case of a public health emergency.
Speaking on this occasion, the head of the office of security and cooperation at the U.S. Embassy in Morocco, Lieutenant Colonel Teremura Shamel, stressed that this donation is part of the long-standing cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
This mobile unit can be used wherever there is a medical need, he said, adding that it is equipped with a negative pressure isolation system that ensures internal air purification for patients and a healthy medical environment.
For his part, Director of Planning and Financial Resources at the Ministry of Health, Abdelouahab Belmadani, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the U.S. Embassy in Morocco for its support, stressing that this donation embodies the age-old bilateral relations and fruitful cooperation between the two friendly countries.
