Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has joined forces with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS) to improve medical care for its pilots and cabin crew.
The deal, signed in Rabat by RAM CEO Abdelhamid Addou and FM6SS CEO Lahcen Belyamani, is part of RAM’s plan to grow its fleet and staff by 2037. The partnership will help ensure the airline’s crew get the medical checks they need to fly safely.
FM6SS will set up an Aviation Medicine Centre at the Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Bouskoura. The centre will handle all required medical exams for flight staff, including initial tests, renewals, follow-ups, and extra assessments needed for certification.
The centre will make the medical process smooth and safe, following both national rules and international aviation standards. It will also help build Morocco’s expertise in aviation medicine as RAM grows its team toward 10,000 crew members and expands its fleet fourfold.
RAM’s CEO Addou said the partnership puts crew health at the centre of the airline’s growth and safety plans.
In a related move, FM6SS is creating a Precision Medicine Hub at its Rabat hospital. The hub will include a genomics lab, a cell research lab, and a clinical unit. Supported by a biobank and data centre, it will improve early diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for serious illnesses like cancer and rare diseases.
The foundation said the project will help modernise Morocco’s health system, make advanced care more accessible, and strengthen the country’s role in precision medicine.
