Morocco’s National Airports Authority has entered a new chapter in its strategic management with the appointment of four new directors to oversee key airports in Marrakech, Tangier, Fes, and Agadir. These leadership changes are part of the country’s broader “Airport 2030” strategy—a long-term plan aimed at modernizing aviation infrastructure and meeting the demands of rapidly growing air traffic.

Soumia Tabeg will now head operations at Marrakech Menara Airport, one of the country’s busiest gateways for international tourism. In Tangier, Othmane Hassani takes over at Ibn Battuta Airport, a growing logistics and industrial hub in northern Morocco. Abdelmounaim Aoutoul has been tapped to lead Agadir Al Massira Airport, while Kamal Ait Chrifa assumes command at Fes Saïss, a regional airport with strong cultural and heritage-driven traffic.

These appointments reflect a shifting aviation landscape in Morocco, where each airport plays a distinct role in the nation’s development goals. Marrakech is focused on boosting capacity to support its thriving tourism industry. Tangier is expanding its role as a key connector for industrial transport. Fes is leveraging its historical and cultural assets to enhance its regional draw. Meanwhile, Agadir continues to reposition itself as a destination for sustainable, high-end tourism.

The National Airports Authority is betting on renewed leadership to help align the aviation sector with Morocco’s wider economic transformation. By putting new talent at the helm, the agency is signaling its intent to raise operational standards and improve connectivity across the country. This management shake-up is not just about filling roles—it’s about building a future-ready airport system that meets international benchmarks and keeps pace with Morocco’s ambitious development agenda.
