ONMT partners with Jet2.com to expand air travel between the UK and Morocco

In a significant move aimed at revitalizing Morocco’s tourism industry, the National Moroccan Tourist Office (ONMT) has introduced new flight routes connecting the UK and Morocco. This initiative is a key part of the ONMT’s broader strategy, “Light in Action,” which seeks to enhance the country’s air connectivity with crucial international markets.

British low-cost carrier Jet2.com has been selected to operate these new routes. The first flights, successfully launched from several UK cities such as Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, and London Stansted, now head directly to Agadir—a coastal gem known for its sunny beaches and welcoming atmosphere. As of October 4th, these flights are meeting the growing demand among British travelers eager to explore this scenic region of Morocco.

Simultaneously, Jet2.com has also begun offering flights to Marrakech, a vibrant Moroccan city renowned for its rich cultural heritage, bustling souks, and breathtaking landscapes. These inaugural flights depart from Birmingham, Manchester, and London Stansted, offering British tourists a seamless way to experience the city’s unique charm and authenticity.

This initiative is part of the ONMT’s clear ambition to increase visitor numbers from the UK, a strategic market for Moroccan tourism. By expanding air links, Morocco aims to attract a growing number of tourists while strengthening cultural and economic ties between the two countries.

Jet2.com’s involvement in this project further demonstrates the airline’s commitment to expanding its network and providing more travel options for UK-based vacationers. By making it easier to reach these sought-after Moroccan destinations, the airline is not only invigorating the tourism sector but also offering British travelers an opportunity to experience the rich cultural diversity Morocco has to offer.

With these new routes, both Agadir and Marrakech are set to welcome an increasing number of visitors from the UK, showcasing Morocco’s stunning landscapes and rich traditions to a broader international audience.
