Starting June 7, 2026, Royal Air Maroc will launch a groundbreaking direct flight between Casablanca and Los Angeles – the first-ever nonstop air route connecting Africa to the U.S. West Coast. This major milestone not only expands the airline’s long-haul operations but also aligns with growing demand tied to the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
The new service will operate three times a week, with a nonstop journey lasting approximately 12 hours. Designed to serve both African and Moroccan communities in the United States as well as American travelers, the route aims to attract tourists, business professionals, and soccer fans heading to the 2026 World Cup. According to Royal Air Maroc, this direct link represents a broader strategic move to tighten connections with key global hubs in tourism, business, and culture.
Hamid Addou, the airline’s CEO, described the launch as a pivotal step in expanding Royal Air Maroc’s global footprint. He emphasized that the route not only boosts the company’s international visibility but also strengthens Morocco’s appeal to North American travelers. Casablanca is increasingly being positioned as a major intercontinental hub, bridging Africa with both Europe and the Americas.
Flights will be operated using Boeing 787 Dreamliners, advanced aircraft known for their comfort, fuel efficiency, and suitability for long-haul routes. Passengers can expect a high standard of onboard service, tailored to the specific demands of transatlantic travel.
This new link to Los Angeles marks a significant expansion of Royal Air Maroc’s presence in North America. The airline already flies to New York, Washington, Miami, Montreal, and Toronto, and continues to invest in key routes such as São Paulo, Dubai, and other U.S. cities.
The timing of this expansion is no coincidence. It fits into the airline’s broader strategy to scale up operations in anticipation of the 2030 World Cup, which Morocco will co-host alongside Spain and Portugal. Royal Air Maroc plans to increase both the size of its fleet and the reach of its network over the coming years.
Flights from Casablanca are scheduled every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday, departing at 4:00 a.m. and landing in Los Angeles at 8:20 a.m. The return leg will leave L.A. at 10:20 a.m. and touch down in Casablanca the following day at 5:25 a.m. Tickets have been on sale since December 4 through the airline’s usual booking platforms.
