Saham Paiements debuts with bold vision for Morocco’s cashless future

Saham Bank is doubling down on its innovation strategy with the launch of Saham Paiements, a new subsidiary focused on electronic payment solutions. The goal is to help modernize Morocco’s retail sector by making digital payments easier and more accessible, particularly for small neighborhood businesses.

The newly created company will offer a full suite of payment tools tailored to the local market’s needs. These include state-of-the-art electronic payment terminals, mobile solutions compatible with contactless technology, and comprehensive support services such as on-site installation, training, and technical assistance.

Asmae Hajjami, CEO of Saham Bank, emphasized that this move is part of a broader effort to make digital transactions more commonplace by providing reliable, easy-to-use services. Mohamed El Morabit, who now heads Saham Paiements, added that the company’s focus is on delivering a seamless digital shift for merchants, supported by solid technology and close-to-the-ground service.

With this launch, Saham Bank is positioning itself as a key player in the rapidly growing digital payments space. The sector is expected to top 100 million annual transactions in Morocco’s local retail market—a surge the bank clearly intends to help drive.
