SFC Automotive Solutions has opened a new factory at the Tanger Med industrial platform in northern Morocco. The German-owned group, backed by investment fund Mutares, says the plant will help it expand production and serve growing demand from car makers in Europe and the United States.
The six-hectare site represents an investment of €28m. The company expects the factory to generate €85m in revenue and create 900 direct jobs.
The opening ceremony was attended by Investment Minister Karim Zidane, executives from Mutares and SFC Solutions, Tanger Med Zones managing director Ahmed Bennis and local officials.
Karim Zidane said the project showed international investors’ confidence in Morocco’s industrial base and highlighted Tanger Med as a competitive hub for companies targeting global markets. He said the investment would strengthen Morocco’s position in global value chains while creating long-term jobs and skills.
Fabio Morandi, Operating Partner at Mutares and chairman of SFC Automotive Solutions, said: “This implantation is a major milestone for the group in Morocco.” He added: “We are committed to industrial excellence, innovation and sustainable growth.” He said the factory would increase production capacity, support customers and contribute to the region’s economic and social development.
Ahmed Bennis said the project reflected growing interest from German investors in Tanger Med and confirmed the strength of the platform’s industrial ecosystem.
SFC Automotive Solutions joins German automotive suppliers including ZF Lifetec, MUBEA and KOSTAL already based at Tanger Med. Tanger Med Zones said the project would help create jobs, build local skills and strengthen Morocco’s industrial integration into global supply chains.
The factory will produce automotive sealing systems made from rubber and thermoplastic materials, including technical seals for vehicle bodies. It will also manufacture fluid transfer systems for cooling circuits used in combustion, hybrid and electric vehicles.
The plant uses advanced production technologies and strict quality standards to meet car makers’ requirements for performance, safety, durability and reliability.
During the visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Mutares to support the expansion of companies from the fund’s portfolio of more than 40 multinationals into Morocco.
More than 20 German companies are now based at the Tanger Med industrial platform across automotive, logistics, electronics and other sectors. Their investments exceed 3bn dirhams and have created more than 10,000 direct jobs. Their combined turnover reached about 9bn dirhams in 2025.
