The Moroccan Metering Company (SMCV), a subsidiary of the Safari Group, has earned the highly coveted Arab Quality Award. The accolade was presented during the 60th meeting of the Arab Higher Commission for Standardization on February 6, 2025, in Rabat.
Established in 1948, SMCV has become a dominant force in Morocco’s water metering industry, with an annual production capacity surpassing one million units. Over time, the company has expanded its expertise, embracing technological advancements by developing smart electricity meters to meet the growing demand for innovative energy solutions.
SMCV’s reputation for excellence is anchored in its adherence to stringent global standards for quality, health, safety, and environmental sustainability. Its water meter testing laboratory achieved accreditation under the NM ISO 17025 standard in 2016, underscoring the reliability and accuracy of its measurement equipment. Further cementing its credibility, SMCV’s production unit was certified by France’s National Testing Laboratory (LNE) in 2017, in compliance with the European Directive MID 2014/32/EU—ensuring that its products meet the rigorous demands of the European market.
This latest honor is far from SMCV’s first recognition. In 2018, the company was awarded the National Quality Award in Morocco, followed by its initial Arab Quality Award in 2021. These accolades reflect SMCV’s sustained efforts to maintain leadership in water and energy technologies while continually meeting and surpassing international standards.
