Ferry links between Spain and Morocco have been suspended after worsening weather conditions in the Strait of Gibraltar.

Spain’s Algeciras Port Authority said all sailings scheduled for Saturday were cancelled following the closure of Morocco’s Tanger Med port from midday. The disruption affects all departures planned from 10:00 local time.

Passenger services between Algeciras and Tanger Med are halted, and access to Algeciras port has been restricted for international road haulage trucks bound for Morocco.

Separately, the port of Tarifa announced the full cancellation of ferry services to Tangier City.

Port authorities said the suspensions were due to adverse weather conditions and did not give a timeline for resumption.
