Kenzi Hotels Group says three of its hotels in Morocco have won Travelife certification, a UK-based label for sustainable tourism.

The hotels are TUI SUNEO Kenzi Europa in Agadir, Kenzi Rissani in Errachidia and Kenzi Rose Garden in Marrakech. Inspectors checked how the hotels cut carbon emissions, support local communities and treat staff.

The certificates last two years.
TUI SUNEO Kenzi Europa is certified from 25 March 2026 to 25 March 2028.
Kenzi Rissani is certified from 30 March 2026 to 30 March 2028.
Kenzi Rose Garden is certified from 23 March 2026 to 23 March 2028.

Kenzi says this is part of a wider plan to bring the same sustainability standards to all its hotels. More properties are currently going through the process.

Travelife was created by the travel industry and first launched by ABTA in the UK. It involves an on-site audit that checks more than 160 criteria, from energy and water use to staff conditions and buying from local suppliers. The scheme is recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council, which helps European travel companies promote certified hotels as sustainable.

The move also fits Morocco’s national push for greener tourism. Hotels are being encouraged to save water and use more renewable energy, especially in dry regions like Marrakech and Errachidia. In coastal cities such as Agadir, certification often means installing low-flow taps and recycling wastewater.

The programme also focuses on the social side of tourism. Hotels must buy more goods and services locally and guarantee fair contracts, safe workplaces and training for staff.

Each hotel faces different environmental challenges. In Agadir, the focus is protecting marine life and reducing beach pollution. In Errachidia, the priority is saving water and limiting desertification. In Marrakech, the focus is waste management and protecting urban green spaces.

The certification is especially important for TUI SUNEO Kenzi Europa, which works with the TUI travel group. TUI aims to offer only sustainable hotels in its main holiday packages, so the label helps the property remain attractive to European travellers.
