Aramex customers can now drop off and collect parcels at accredited Damane Cash agencies across Morocco. The new service brings Aramex’s parcel services closer to people in their neighbourhoods. Customers can use participating Damane Cash branches as local pickup and drop-off points instead of relying only on home delivery or traditional courier collection.
Damane Cash is a payment institution and a subsidiary of Bank of Africa group. Its agencies already offer services such as money transfers, bill payments and currency exchange. The new partnership adds parcel services to that list.
Customers sending a parcel can take it to an accredited Damane Cash agency. Staff can process the shipment and collect the delivery fee at the same counter.
Customers receiving a parcel can choose a participating Damane Cash agency as a pickup point when the service is available for their shipment. The customer receives a notification when the parcel arrives, then visits the agency with identification and tracking details to collect it.
The service is intended to offer several benefits: a pickup point close to home, personal assistance, longer opening hours and several services in one place.
Aramex also gains access to Damane Cash’s large network of local agencies across the Kingdom. This gives the logistics company a wider physical presence without having to build separate branches for parcel collection.
The partnership comes as online shopping grows and delivery companies face the challenge of handling the final part of the delivery process, known as the last mile.
Home delivery can be difficult and costly when customers are not available, addresses are hard to reach or deliveries have to be made individually. Local pickup points give customers another option and can reduce the need for repeated home-delivery attempts.
The model also links financial services with logistics. Damane Cash agencies already attract customers for everyday tasks such as paying bills and transferring money. Customers can now deal with parcels during the same visit.
The partnership also gives Damane Cash a way to expand beyond its traditional financial and payment services. Its network can generate more customer visits and provide another service at existing branches.
