Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech hosts a night of Schubert with the OPM

The Yves Saint Laurent Museum Marrakech (mYSLm) is set to host an enchanting evening of chamber music as part of the Moroccan Philharmonic Orchestra’s (OPM) new season. Scheduled for November 24 at 7 p.m., the event will feature a performance of Franz Schubert’s iconic quintet for two violins, viola, cello, and double bass (Op. 163), along with his Quartet in D major.

This concert follows performances by the OPM in Rabat and Casablanca, highlighting the museum’s commitment to blending culture and music.

Taking the stage at mYSLm are accomplished musicians Gibril Bennani and Yassine Benhissoune on violin, Abir Abassi on viola, Abdessamad Alassali on cello, and Walid Drissi on double bass. Together, they bring Schubert’s melodies to life, moving through a spectrum of emotions—from profound melancholy to bursts of radiant joy—that will captivate classical music enthusiasts.

Running alongside the OPM’s symphonic season, the chamber music series shines a spotlight on smaller ensembles, providing audiences with a more intimate experience of the orchestra’s artistic talent. The series celebrates the diversity and depth of the musicians’ personalities, showcasing a repertoire rich in harmony and emotional nuance.

By hosting this concert, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum continues its mission to serve as a hub for art and culture in Marrakech. The evening promises a seamless blend of classical music and the museum’s iconic ambiance, offering an unforgettable experience for music lovers.
