Fiber-optic fault halts Al Boraq trains

A technical glitch disrupted high-speed train service between Kénitra and Casablanca on Monday morning, briefly halting operations and causing delays. The issue began around 10 a.m. when ongoing work near the Kénitra station accidentally severed a fiber-optic cable. The damage forced Al Boraq trains to stop and slowed down conventional rail services along the same corridor.

Rail network teams were dispatched immediately after the incident was detected. As they worked to restore the damaged equipment, temporary solutions were put in place to keep passengers moving and minimize the impact on their journeys. Despite the sudden disruption, efforts were made to ensure that travelers could continue toward their destinations with as little inconvenience as possible.

By midday, roughly two hours later, full service resumed. The national railway operator issued an apology to affected passengers and thanked them for their patience and understanding during the unexpected delay.
