UACC becomes first Arab and African member of top EU advertising body

Morocco’s leading communications agency network has taken a major leap onto the international stage. For the first time, the Union of Communication Consulting Agencies (UACC) has joined the European Association of Communications Agencies (EACA), becoming the first-ever member from both the Arab world and the African continent to enter this influential alliance.

The move is more than symbolic—it marks a strategic turning point for the UACC. Since its founding in 1998, the organization has united the country’s top communications agencies. Today, with 52 members representing the vast majority of Morocco’s advertising industry, its growing stature is now officially recognized at a European level.

Membership in the EACA gives the UACC access to a powerful network spanning over 30 countries. Moroccan agencies will now be part of key working groups tackling critical industry issues such as regulatory frameworks, the rise of artificial intelligence, and the push toward environmental sustainability. They’ll also benefit from practical tools and resources like the AI Hub, the Effie Europe awards, and the Ad Net Zero initiative.

For Hassan Rouissi, president of the UACC, the partnership reflects just how far Morocco’s communications sector has come. He sees it as validation of the industry’s maturity and as a signal of its intent to play a meaningful role in shaping global industry standards and conversations.

Youssef Tazi, who leads international relations for the organization, views this milestone as just the beginning of a broader international expansion. His aim is to establish long-term partnerships that extend well beyond Morocco’s borders and position the UACC as a key player in global communications strategy.

Beyond the institutional recognition, the collaboration also opens the door for Moroccan expertise to shine on a larger scale. Agencies within the UACC can now engage directly in deep industry discussions and showcase the depth of their creative and strategic skills to a wider audience.

The agreement also includes new connections to some 40 European universities, paving the way for advanced training programs, academic exchange, and new avenues for collaborative innovation—all aimed at helping Moroccan professionals grow and adapt in an ever-evolving global market.

This partnership is a cornerstone of the UACC’s broader effort to expand its global footprint. The organization is clearly positioning itself to deepen its engagement with leading voices in the communications world, building bridges that stretch far beyond its regional base.
