Inaugurated in May 2025, the Rabat Olympic Stadium has quickly become one of the standout achievements in Morocco’s nationwide push to modernize its sports infrastructure. Built in just nine months, the stadium is set to play a key role in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where it will host several matches from Group C.
Located in the heart of the capital, the stadium seats 21,000 spectators and boasts a distinctive architectural design. Its crescent-shaped partial roof above the main stand gives the structure a unique identity, combining functionality with visual impact. The playing field features natural grass, and the lighting system has been specifically engineered for evening and night-time events.
Beyond football, the venue is built to international standards, featuring a certified athletics track approved by World Athletics. It has already welcomed major competitions, including the Mohammed VI International Athletics Meeting—part of the Diamond League circuit—as well as matches from both the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Designed to meet the demands of global sporting events, the facility includes a large-capacity underground parking area, a state-of-the-art anti-doping center, audiovisual production studios, fitness areas, and numerous locker rooms. The stadium also houses VIP and VVIP zones, luxury lounges, and a conference hall to accommodate press and official guests.
On the technical side, the stadium is equipped with advanced broadcast control rooms and TV studios, ensuring high-quality coverage of all events. Its cutting-edge lighting system meets the strict standards required for international competitions.
Built at a cost of 528 million dirhams, the stadium represents more than just a new sports venue—it’s a symbol of Morocco’s broader investment strategy to enhance its appeal as a major host for regional and global sporting events. With its modern features and multipurpose design, the Rabat Olympic Stadium stands as a powerful expression of the country’s sporting ambitions.
