Banque Populaire : Marrakech and Tangier welcome first Al Moukawil Chaabi Centers

Banque Populaire has officially launched its first two Al Moukawil Chaabi Centers in Marrakech and Tangier, stepping up its long-standing commitment to supporting very small businesses, local merchants, and artisans. These new hubs mark a fresh chapter in the bank’s efforts to provide hands-on support for one of the most vital segments of the Moroccan economy.

Strategically located in two regions with strong economic momentum, the centers are the first phase of a wider rollout. The plan is to eventually open one in every regional branch of Banque Populaire, creating a national network designed to offer entrepreneurs localized, tailored support throughout every stage of their business journey.

Each Al Moukawil Chaabi Center offers a comprehensive package of services, including personalized guidance, business orientation, ongoing support, and easier access to favorable financing options. This new approach is built on a redesigned customer relationship model that aims to more accurately meet the evolving needs of very small enterprises.

For more than 35 years, Banque Populaire has been active in the entrepreneurial space through its Foundation for Business Creation. The bank is now drawing on that experience to expand its reach and impact, reaffirming its dedication to entrepreneurship with a stronger emphasis on proximity and personalized assistance. By doing so, it aims to position itself as a dependable long-term partner for aspiring business owners.

“With the launch of Al Moukawil Chaabi Centers, we’re taking a significant step forward in how we support very small enterprises,” said Idriss Bensmail, General Manager of the Group’s Retail Banking Division. He emphasized the bank’s goal to offer support that is accessible, practical, and fully integrated.

Operating in 32 countries, including 18 across Africa, Groupe BCP is one of Morocco’s most prominent banking institutions. It plays a key role in both savings collection and economic development financing. Its influence spans key regions such as ECOWAS, CEMAC, and the Indian Ocean, reflecting its growing presence on the continental and international stage.
