Crédit Agricole du Maroc has announced a support plan for farmers and rural families affected by recent storms and floods in several parts of the country.

The bank said the steps are meant to ease money pressures on people who were hit and help farm work restart as soon as possible.

The plan includes removing some bank fees, giving more time to repay loans and offering new loans to help farmers recover. The bank said this will help protect farm production and speed up recovery in rural areas.

As a first step, Crédit Agricole du Maroc will remove fees on money transfers through its Al Filahi Cash service for people in affected areas. This measure will last for two months.

The bank will also allow delayed or adjusted payments for farmers and other customers who were affected, depending on each case.

In addition, the bank said it will provide new loans to help farmers get back to work, including replanting crops and fixing damaged farms, so incomes are not lost.

Crédit Agricole du Maroc said the move is part of the wider national effort to support people affected by the severe weather.

Heavy rain and flooding in recent weeks have damaged crops, homes and farm land in several regions.
